Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility
We demand less from the environment, but more from ourselves.
More than 60 years ago, Christine Schrammek, the founder of our company, was already passionate about helping both the environment and people. We continue to live this motivation in what we do today. We take responsibility and see this as an integral part of our corporate culture. It is particularly important to us to act sustainably wherever possible and reasonable, to promote projects with a sustainable impact and to engage in targeted actions according to our possibilities.
Our way to the goal – Step by Step

Step by Step

Active Ingredients
When developing our products, we place the highest value on producing with renewable raw materials.
Raw materials from controlled organic cultivation are used for production wherever possible.
There are no PEG derivatives, mineral oil or microplastics in our products.
We do not test on animals. Approx. 90% of all our products are even suitable for vegans.

Packaging
Changing the way we process our jars results in 50% savings in plastics. This is how we improve the balance already at the beginning of the cycle.
In Germany, we participate in the “Green Dot” dual system: our packaging materials can thus be recycled when disposed of correctly in the recycling garbage can.
All folding boxes, cartons and printed products are made of FSC-Mix certified materials.
We do not use cellophane wrapping on our products and no longer include cream spatulas – this saves us approx. 1 million spatulas with 800kg of plastics.
Glass jars instead of plastic jars? Sounds logical at first. But glass jars are much less sustainable than plastic, both in terms of production and recycling. The production of glass requires an enormous amount of energy in form of high temperatures. Disposable glass is melted down again after use – and temperatures of approx. 1000ºC are necessary for this. In addition, the increased weight during transport leads to a worse overall balance than with plastic containers. Therefore we work together with our suppliers on a constantly growing recycling percentage for our jars and tubes.

Company
All business locations use 100% green power from renewable sources + economical, modern LED lighting.
We meet virtually worldwide and offset the CO₂ emissions of unavoidable business travel via Green Perk.
At our headquarters, we offer water stations instead of bottles or dispensers, thus avoiding transport routes and waste.
Wherever possible, we work digitally and avoid printouts.

Transport & Logistics
All orders in Germany are shipped CO² neutral via the corresponding programs of DHL and UPS.
As filling material in cartons we use paper or recyclable foil.
Through IT-supported warehouse optimization, we avoid unnecessary transport routes, subsequent shipments and returns.
We do not use unnecessary package additions when shipping all orders.
Corporate Social Responsibility
At Dr. med. Christine Schrammek Kosmetik, we associate corporate responsibility with the preservation and appreciation of human and natural resources, far beyond the legal requirements. With small and large projects, we want to help where help is needed. We support social projects in Germany and in disaster areas. In addition to our core projects, such as the support of the local Don Bosco Club, the organisation Doctors Without Borders and from 2020 Kiva, there are many small projects in which we are involved. To name just a few, we have given patients of local hospitals free cosmetic treatments, supported Aktion Lichtblicke e.V. and donated for the help where natural disasters took place, such as the earthquake in Nepal.
To celebrate the 70th birthday of the company’s owner, Dr. med. Christine Schrammek-Drusio, the team donated 70 trees, which will be planted to reforest an area in NRW.
